New Resources

Here are two websites that parents told me about. They both look pretty neat and I believe they are both being offered for free during this time. Check them out!

I Know It

This site breaks things down by content. For example, you can answer multiplication questions, fraction questions, geometry, etc.

Prodigy

This site is a video game format. You can cruise around a virtual world, but you must answer math questions to get prizes and power ups along the way.

Thanks for the recommendations parents! Keep them coming!!

Hello!!!

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well over this break!

I miss seeing your smiling faces in my room for math!

In case you are getting bored, here are some great ideas for FUN math things to do:

- Check out my Educational Math Games site. Lots of cool games there. (The Multiplication Man and Division Man games are always student favorites...it's just like Pacman!)

- www.mathplayground.com has some great games! Just click on 4th grade.

- www.abcya.com has some neat games too for 4th grade

- Don't forget about Sudoku. Here is the site I use to find ones for our board in the classroom: http://www.dailysudoku.com/sudoku/today.shtml If you click "Play Online" you can solve it on the computer, or print it out if you'd rather. Teach your parents how to play!!!

- I also found a cool app called Nonograms that I downloaded on my phone and tablet. It is like a logic puzzle that creates a picture. Check it out too!

"Remind" for Mrs. Cavill's classes

This year I will be utilizing "Remind." This is the same system the school uses to notify you of school closing, delays, and changes in buses. It is a free service and allows text messages to be sent without the sharing of personal phone numbers.

If you would like to enroll in this service for my classes all you must do is:

- text @64943ea to 81010
